Position Overview:

The Healthcare Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of patient care services. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills to ensure a positive and supportive healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care:
    • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
    • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
  2. Vital Signs Monitoring:
    • Record and monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
    • Report any significant changes or abnormalities to healthcare professionals.
  3. Assistance with Mobility:
    • Help patients with mobility, including transferring and positioning.
    • Encourage and assist with rehabilitation exercises as directed.
  4. Patient Records:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
    • Document care provided and report observations to the healthcare team.
  5. Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
    • Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
  6. Assist with Medical Procedures:
    • Support healthcare professionals during medical procedures and examinations.
    • Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of examination rooms.
  7. Infection Control:
    • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe healthcare environment.
    • Assist with the sterilization of equipment and instruments.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar role is advantageous.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team.
