Position Overview:
The Healthcare Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of patient care services. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills to ensure a positive and supportive healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Vital Signs Monitoring:
- Record and monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Report any significant changes or abnormalities to healthcare professionals.
- Assistance with Mobility:
- Help patients with mobility, including transferring and positioning.
- Encourage and assist with rehabilitation exercises as directed.
- Patient Records:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Document care provided and report observations to the healthcare team.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
- Assist with Medical Procedures:
- Support healthcare professionals during medical procedures and examinations.
- Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of examination rooms.
- Infection Control:
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe healthcare environment.
- Assist with the sterilization of equipment and instruments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar role is advantageous.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team.
