Position Overview:
The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks, preparing financial statements, and supporting financial decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data and reports.
- General Ledger Management:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
- Post journal entries and adjustments as needed to ensure accurate financial records.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments.
- Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding invoices, and coordinate collections efforts.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide variance analysis.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes, identify trends, and evaluate financial performance.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
- Compliance and Audit Support:
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation and support for internal and external audits.
- Tax Compliance:
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and compliance filings, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
