Accountant

Position Overview:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks, preparing financial statements, and supporting financial decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data and reports.
  2. General Ledger Management:
    • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
    • Post journal entries and adjustments as needed to ensure accurate financial records.
  3. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    • Process accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments.
    • Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding invoices, and coordinate collections efforts.
  4. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide variance analysis.
  5. Financial Analysis:
    • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes, identify trends, and evaluate financial performance.
    • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
  6. Compliance and Audit Support:
    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.
    • Assist in the preparation of documentation and support for internal and external audits.
  7. Tax Compliance:
    • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and compliance filings, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax.
    • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
