Procurement Officer

Position Overview:

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, from sourcing suppliers to contract negotiation and supplier relationship management. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Sourcing and Supplier Management:
    • Identify and assess potential suppliers, evaluating their capabilities, reliability, and pricing.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  2. Procurement Process:
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to streamline the procurement process.
    • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including requisition, purchase order issuance, and receipt of goods/services.
  3. Cost Management:
    • Analyze procurement spend and identify opportunities for cost savings and value optimization.
    • Monitor and control procurement budgets to ensure adherence to financial targets.
  4. Contract Management:
    • Maintain accurate records of procurement contracts, including terms, conditions, and renewal dates.
    • Monitor contract performance and compliance, addressing any issues or discrepancies.
  5. Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and partnership.
    • Address supplier concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely and effective manner.
  6. Risk Mitigation:
    • Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions or supplier non-performance.
    • Develop contingency plans to ensure continuity of supply.
  7. Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations affecting procurement activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar role.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
