Position Overview:
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, from sourcing suppliers to contract negotiation and supplier relationship management. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Supplier Management:
- Identify and assess potential suppliers, evaluating their capabilities, reliability, and pricing.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
- Procurement Process:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to streamline the procurement process.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including requisition, purchase order issuance, and receipt of goods/services.
- Cost Management:
- Analyze procurement spend and identify opportunities for cost savings and value optimization.
- Monitor and control procurement budgets to ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Contract Management:
- Maintain accurate records of procurement contracts, including terms, conditions, and renewal dates.
- Monitor contract performance and compliance, addressing any issues or discrepancies.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and partnership.
- Address supplier concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely and effective manner.
- Risk Mitigation:
- Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions or supplier non-performance.
- Develop contingency plans to ensure continuity of supply.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations affecting procurement activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar role.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
